Retail Concept for Sokos
We were briefed to create a new retail concept for the largest chain of department stores in Finland, and to pilot the concept in a 3000 m2 space in a new shopping center in Helsinki. The objective was to create a highly commercial concept that would give the Sokos brand a boost and a contemporary look and feel.
The project was a total makeover for the Sokos brand experience. We went from a thorough ethnographic study and shopper categorization to service definition and design, to concept creation, furniture, signage, spatial design and architecture, to implementation in Kaari Shopping Center. Lastly, all aspects of the new concept were minutely documented in a concept manual.
